 Wake County Food Security Plan Internship

Internship Description:
Wake County Cooperative Extension is seeking one part-time intern to support the implementation of the 2023 Food Security Plan Update. The intern will be housed at Wake County Cooperative Extension; the position will report to Wake County Cooperative Extension and coordinate with Capital Area Food Network. The intern is responsible for working with the Wake County Cooperative Extension Community Food Systems team in the equitable implementation of the Food Security Plan Update, providing support to program staff and community organizations, as well as providing vital communications and recruitment support to Capital Area Food Network. Duties include:

  • Maintaining CAFN website and monthly newsletter

  • Attending and supporting CAFN Circle meetings

  • Assisting with Food Security Plan grant application and funding distribution processes

  • Supporting the Food Justice Cohort

Compensation:
Position can run for up to 24 months, but can also be for a shorter period of time (e.g., the summer).

20 hours per week (with flexible hours), $20/hr.
